Aqualyx Treatment is a much less invasive procedure than liposuction. The chin and jawline area is injected with a specially-formulated solution, containing De-Oxycholic Acid and Carnitine. The solution is able to bind to the fatty tissue, breaking it down. The body then simply flushes out the broken down fat over time following treatment through our naturally occuring lymphatic drainage capabilities.

How does fat dissolving work?

Fat dissolving injections, also known as lipolytic injections, destroy fat cells by damaging the fat cell membrane and liquifying the fat in the treatment area. The destroyed fat cells are then broken down and removed naturally through the body’s lymphatic system.

Am I a candidate?

This treatment is ideal for patients with moderate body weight or who are slightly overweight with stubborn, localized fatty deposits, which appear resistant to diet and physical activity. This treatment should not be looked to as a miracle weight loss solution, but instead a tool to aid weight loss alongside a healthier and improved lifestyle. Fat dissolving injections also produce wonderful results for body contouring.

What areas can be treated?

How many sessions will I need?

This will be dependent on a number of factors including age, area being treated, and the amount of fat present. In most cases we recommend a course of between 2 - 4 treatments, spaced between 6-8 weeks apart.

What can I expect immediately after my treatment?

The treatment may be followed by initial redness, localized swelling, bruising, tenderness and sensitivity in the treated area. Some patients describe feeling “strange” – this is the inflammatory response and is completely normal. You may continue with normal day to day activities and physical activity

How long before I see results?

Each patient is different however you should start seeing results from 2 to 3 weeks after your treatment. The gradual action of the solution needs time to achieve the treatment aim. A course of treatments is required for optimal fat reduction results.
